Delegate’s Corner – Fall 2024

Greetings from your Area Delegate! It was wonderful to see so many of you at our Fall Assembly in North Battleford, in-person and on-line. It was a wonderful weekend of fun and fellowship and for doing the work of Saskatchewan Al-Anon. Thank you to those who have taken on a new Area position; your willingness to serve at this level is very much appreciated. Many of our groups will be having elections in the coming months; I encourage you to consider where you can best be used to spread the message of recovery.

As winter sets in, you may need to make more of an effort to physically attend your home group. Let's practice "Let it begin with me" and make every effort to be present. Take advantage of all the hybrid and electronic meetings available when you just can’t make yourself leave the house. We have so many opportunities to attend AFG meetings; in our communities, provincially and world-wide.

Watch for information on "Recovery Through the Holidays"; special AFG meetings will be held on Zoom on December 24,25, 26, 31 and January 1 st . Everyone is welcome. Take care of yourself during what can be difficult holidays for many of us by coming together for an hour of serenity.

"Al-Anon Day of Fellowship: will be taking place on a Saturday in February, date yet to be determined. This will be a full day of AFG meetings and speakers also on the Zoom platform. We have had wonderful attendance in the past and expect the same this coming year. Watch for a poster with all the necessary information.

I am so blessed to be part of this wonderful fellowship and especially to be involved in Saskatchewan Al-Anon. As your Area Delegate, I will be attending the annual World Service Conference in April. Thank you for supporting me in so many ways.
